Ra’s solar barque moves through the heavens, carrying the sun and its divine company across the ordered expanse. This original Etherfolk composition draws on ancient Egyptian cosmological imagery in which the structure of creation is expressed through divine form: sky as goddess, earth as god, air as the force that separates them, and the solar barque as the appointed vessel of celestial passage.
The work does not reproduce one surviving papyrus or tomb scene. It gathers several familiar elements of Egyptian sacred cosmology into a single modern plate, arranged in the flat, hierarchical visual language associated with New Kingdom wall painting and papyrus illustration.
